We’ve had a busy second week! Lots of amazing things have happened! Here is part one of the recap!
Reading, reading, reading! This last week with our readers has been a blessing. We’ve been growing the relationships with our readers every day.
Our last Thursday group lesson and party was awesome! Cowboys & Indians themed! We taught the class about America’s roots and the emergence of the American West. Then we played some games from the Old West. (That is if they played darts and pin the tail on the donkey.)
We witnessed our first baptism in Thailand! Our brother Thae decided to commit his life to Christ. We could not be happier! It was a joyous night of celebration!
And that was only the beginning! Read on for part two!
Sorry we’ve been MIA for a while! We’ve been in Thailand for a week now! There is so much I would like to share, but I’ll focus on the highlights and recap the best parts!
Our team in front of the Ramkhamhaeng Christian Center (RCC)! We read, teach, worship, and live in this building. It has become home.

The Lord has blessed us with great readers. (Our numbers are increasing almost daily!) They are very friendly and welcome our teaching. We ask for prayers that God may reveal himself to them. The Spirit is moving in Thailand!

Our first party! Beach party! We had a blast hanging out with our readers and getting to know them. Also, who doesn’t love an icecream sundae? (I know we do!)
We’ve also celebrated a birthday in Thailand. Happy Birthday Doug! (Notice the beluga whale on the cake!)
Basically, it’s been one crazy adventure. And we’ve enjoyed every second of it! The Lord is pruning us every day. We already see God moving in the lives of our readers and we have no doubt that He will continue to move as our project moves forward.
WE LOVE THAILAND!
Keep us in your prayers! And stay tuned!
From top to bottom: Elizabeth, Jason, Doug, Sophia, and Liz!
Who are we? We call ourselves Team Beluga Whale. We are all students at Pepperdine University in Malibu. We are studying topics ranging from Political Science to History to Film Production. But we all have one thing in common: a love for the Lord and a desire to share His love with others. Oh, and another thing we have in common? We all joined LST! Together, we are committed to being the Lord’s hands and feet in Thailand.
Update on Liz: Our teammate Liz has been in Bangkok sharing Christ for the past week and a half! You rock sister!
Liz’s highs & lows from the first week: “High: Everything, but mostly just feeling so loved by everyone here. Low: I don’t even know. I feel so spiritually uplifted & joyful and can’t wait for you guys to meet all the Christians here & start developing friendships with your readers!”
We can’t wait to join you in just a few days! Elizabeth, Jason, Doug, and I (Sophia) will be flying out on this coming Monday, July 22nd!
More to come very very soon!
He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” – Mark 16:15
We are five Pepperdine students about to embark on a journey to Bangkok, Thailand. We are a team going on an LST project to spread God’s love. Let’s Start Talking (LST) is a service ministry that sends students to non-English speaking countries and provides them with an effective way to share their faith.
Four of us will be living in the capital for three weeks. (Our fifth member is already in Bangkok! She is serving for six weeks. Go team!) In Bangkok we will be sharing God’s word by providing free English lessons to the people of Thailand. We cannot wait to meet our readers and anticipate what the Lord has in store for us!
This blog is to update our friends, families, and all our supporters back home. And if you’re our supporter, you ARE our family.
We cannot express our gratitude enough! Thank you for your prayers and donations. You made this trip possible!
